It took two years from that idea to actually go to Norway. After arriving at the airport, we we took a high speed train from the airport to Oslo. it was a pretty dreary day. When we arrived at the hotel, which was right next door to the train station, they had to set up some stuff, so we looked around the city. We decided to get the Oslo pass and go to the Viking ship museum.
To get to the museum we had to board a ferry. At the dock there was a tall ship in the harbor. It was a bit of a walk - all uphill - to get to the Viking ship museum. I was looking at the interesting houses and in particular the roofs of the houses along the way. Nina didn't think it was a good idea to take pictures of random people's houses, but since this was our introduction to Norway, I thought it was warranted to record interesting things I could see.
The museum housed three large boats and a bunch of other things. They were recovered from some viking burial grounds. The carving on the items was out of this world.
